Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Natasha and I began blogging/vlogging my temporary hair colour journey in my naturally curly hair over 8 years ago. After using hair chalks, temporary hair colour sprays, coloured mousses, coloured gels, eye shadows and coloured gels I became known as the Queen of Hair Shadowing. I even coined the phrase ” Hair Shadowing’. After using all of these colours and becoming bored with the colour selection I decided it was time for me to create my own.

What inspired you to have this idea?

I was inspired to do this after growing tired and bored of using the same colours over and over and these companies not having a big selection of colours to choose from. I was wishing for a temporary colour product that didn’t change the texture of my hair, was natural girl friendly and had a selection of colours one could never grow bored from.

What made you go ahead?

I went viral for the fact that I was creating these hair shadows and my hair colour combos started to trend on a lot of websites and online magazines. My emails were filled with women and men asking me when and if I would be releasing these hair shadows that I was using in my own hair. This was definitely the main factor in what pushed me to create and put out my brand Crown Paint Colors. I was also becoming tired of being a “hair colour influencer”. I was realizing that I was putting lots of money into the pockets of these big hair colour brands and I was only receiving little for myself. I knew then that it was up to me to make that change and transition from “influencer” to “Entrepreneur”.

What are the products/services you offer?

At Crown Paint Colors we offer over 70 hair shadow colours, a hair shadow sealant gel, the newly released Semi-Perm Deep Conditioning Colors and the soon to be released Color Removing Shampoo.

What advice do you give to other entrepreneurs?

Never give up! Focus and believe that you can do this. Do lots of research & development, know your product or services inside and out. Nothing worth having can be done overnight. Put in the work and you will be surprised at the results. Don’t get discouraged if someone else is offering a similar product or service. Develop tunnel vision and focus on yourself and your business and why it is needed and stands out from the rest. Also don’t feel like you have to start off big. In my experience, I found that it is best to start small and grow with your business.
